Migraine Symptoms which are most striking

Migraines are often undiagnosed and untreated. By traditional approach 4 steps are suggested mainly with painkillers or ultimately daily medicines. We suggest to take an ancient approach with its roots in Egypt.

Migraine symptoms before the attacks

An estimated 40%-60% of migraine attacks are preceded by premonitory (warning) symptoms lasting hours to days. The symptoms may include:

1. sleepiness
2. irritability
3. fatigue
4. depression or euphoria
5. poor concentration
6. yawning
7. cravings for sweet or salty foods
8. nausea
9. Increased urination
10. vomiting
11. diarrhea
12. facial pallor
13. cold hands
14. cold feet
15. sensitivity to light and sound
16. sensitivity to smells
17. flashing, brightly colored lights in a zigzag pattern (1/4)
18. pins and needles - usually in the hands, neck and shoulders
19. raised or dull senses - you may become irritable and withdraw from people
20. loss of coordination - you may feel disorientated, or off-balance and have difficulty speaking
21. a slowly spreading blind spot
22. problems with co-ordination - you may feel disorientated or off-balance
23. difficulty speaking
24. loss of consciousness - this only happens in very rare cases

Not everyone experiences these symptoms when they have a migraine, and they do not usually all occur at once. The symptoms of a migraine can last anywhere between four hours and three days. They will usually disappear when the headache goes.

Migraine symptoms during the attacks

1. pain one side of the head (2/3)
2. pain on both sides of the head (1/3)
3. an intense, throbbing or pounding pain
4. pain is located in the forehead, around the eye, or at the back of the head
5. a typical attack lasts between 4 and 72 hours

It can be difficult to tell the difference between migraines and another kind of headache (such as a tension or sinus headache). You may think your headaches are sinus headaches, but it is more likely they are migraine headaches. Unlike other headaches, migraines usually occur on one side of your head, although the side that is affected can shift with each new attack.

Migraine symptoms after the attacks

1. feel drained of energy for up to seven days after a migraine attack.
2. experiencing a low-grade headache along with sensitivity to light and sound
3. tired achy muscles for about two days

Occasionally, migraines can last for 72 hours and don't respond to traditional treatment. This type of migraine is known as status migrainosus, and you may need to go to hospital for pain relief and to treat dehydration caused by vomiting.

If you have migraines on more than 15 days per month, this is known as chronic migraine. People with chronic migraine often have to take increasing amounts of medication to control their migraines. In turn, this can lead to further headaches, known as medication-overuse headaches (also called rebound or withdrawal headaches).
